Marvel History 144: Tales to Astonish # 55

Issue: Tales to Astonish # 55
Writer: Stan Lee
Artist: Dick Ayers
Publication Date: May 1964

Our pal The Human Top returns.  Desperate to get into action, Giant Man leaps into action by using a tension-cable to swing down to the ground.  Stupid as this may sound, it's a huge improvement from Giant Man shooting himself into a bed of ants, which is his usual method of transportation.  But fear not, ant enthusiasts, as the little buggers still play a prominent role in the story.

Giant Man also explains to Wasp that if she acted a little less like a blithering idiot, their relationship might improve.  Meanwhile, she's having thought bubbles of marriage.  So tell me, who didn't see their relationship ending in failure?

Finally, the story with the Human Top and Wasp's backup tale make up the entirety of this issue.  Further signs of the upcoming shift from Marvel Comics towards more superhero magazines.
