Marvel History 167: Sgt. Fury # 9

Issue: Sgt. Fury # 9
Writer: Stan Lee
Artist: Dick Ayers
Publication Date: August 1964
Brief Summary:

I'm not sure if Stan could jam in more attempts at British colloquialisms into the dialogue of the commando Percy Pinkerton.  Outside of just a straight list, it might be impossible.  Then, when you think it can't get more ridiculous, Stan hits you with his attempt at a German accent.

And, to top it all off, Percy starts moving in on Nick Fury's woman!  The nerve!

Anyways, the gang sets off to capture Hitler.  Baron Strucker makes another appearance.  Stan explains who's speaking German and who's speaking English, which is pretty darn confusing.

Best of all, Dum Dum Dugan puts his arms around his buddies when he's about to get executed.  Looks like the dude is relaxing for a group photo.  He knows Fury is coming to save them, but still...pretty bad ass.

Favorite Panel: does the umbrella alleviate the situation?  Pinkerton must be related Oswald Cobblepot.
