Fantastic Four # 43

Issue: Fantastic Four # 43
Writer: Stan Lee
Artist: Jack Kirby
Publication Date: October 1965

Brief Summary:

Stan finishes off the story of the Fantastic Four versus the Frightful Four.  This three parter is really just a warm up for the "Galactus Trilogy," a major epic that starts in just a few month's time.  Get excited!

In the meantime, the team puts the pounding on the Frightful Four, although Medusa escapes.  Torch has the opportunity to grab her, but for some inexplicable reason he decides to let her go.  Perhaps he has an inkling of her real identity?

Anyway, Thing and Torch rejoin the fold, and all's well that end's well.

Quick Hits:
  • Thing calls Reed a "crumb"
  • Stan builds up the Fan 4 annual with a couple panels of Doom plotting his next move
  • Thing references the upcoming wedding of Reed and Sue
Favorite Quote:

"She wasn't expecting an attack by invisible force spheres!" Invisible Woman; not sure who does expect those kinds of attacks.

Favorite Panel:

Torch is all business.
